Multiple crews contain fire in downtown Lawrenceburg

LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. (WKRN) – A huge fire engulfed a building in the downtown district of Lawrenceburg around 8:00 a.m. Saturday.

According to Lawrenceburg Fire Chief Jay Moore the building was heavily engulfed with smoke and flames when they arrived.

The chief says the building is occupied, but did not say by whom.

Lawrenceburg Firefighters were aided by New Prospect Fire, Ethridge Fire, Leoma Fire, and Gandy Fire

The fire was contained to the building where it started, something Chief Moore says was very important due to the close proximity of neighboring buildings.

As a precaution fire crews were planning to remain on the scene throughout Saturday evening.

Lawrenceburg Police Department, Lawrence County EMS, and Lawrence County E-911 also assisted with the operation.
