Man rescued after kayak overturns on Duck River

COLUMBIA, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was rescued after his kayak overturned on the Duck River Thursday afternoon.

It happened at the Iron Bridge Boat Ramp on Iron Bridge Road just after 2 p.m.

Sheriff Bucky Rowland told News 2 it took about 45 minutes to rescue the man.

According to Rowland, the river is up and the current is swift.

The man was with two other people at the time. They were both able to get to shore safely.

No injuries were reported.
