NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police are investigating after a homeless man was found apparently beaten to death in a parking lot south of downtown Nashville Friday morning.
Police were flagged down by citizens around 7:50 a.m. after Alvester Merriweather was found in the lot near the corner of Second Avenue and Lafayette Street.
Merriweather was pronounced dead at the scene. According to a release, police said the 53-year-old man was last seen alive between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Friday.
A motive was not immediately known.
The investigation is continuing.
