NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – According to the most recent United States Census Bureau data, Murfreesboro was listed among the 15 fastest-growing cities in the country.
Murfreesboro came in at No. 10 nationwide as the city grew by 4.7 percent between July, 2016 and July, 2016 with more than 131,000 people who live there.
The census data also found Nashville is now the largest city in the state of Tennessee with a population of 660,000, surpassing Memphis by a thin 7,000.
The Nashville Chamber of Commerce is following the census numbers closely as they are encouraging businesses to relocate or expand in the city in the hopes of continuing economic development.
