NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police say a suspected bank robbery was taken into custody less than five minutes after the alleged hold-up.
Anthony Corbin, 51, was transferred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s custody after his arrest Wednesday morning just before 11 a.m.
Corbin is accused of going into the Pinnacle Bank on West End Avenue and demanding money from the teller at gunpoint. He reportedly fled on foot after.
Officers responded to the call within minutes and police say they spotted Corbin, who matched the description given.
According to a press release, he was detained and found to be carrying a BB pistol that resembled a semi-automatic handgun, two large knives, and money.
Corbin is expected to be charged federally with bank robbery. He has prior convictions for aggravated robbery, robbery and drug possession.
