CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 16-year-old girl reported missing from Clarksville a month ago was found in the Netherlands.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to News 2 Monday night that Margaret Lee was found.

She was reported missing on April 1 and, at the time, the sheriff’s office say she might be trying to leave the country.

According to the BBC, Lee flew to Amsterdam to meet with someone she met online. She reportedly took her sister’s passport to fly there after her family took hers away.

Dutch police started looking for her after she disappeared in April based on information they gathered from her social media accounts. Officers eventually stopped her at a train station, about 75 miles east of Amsterdam.

News 2 spoke with a reporter with De Telegraaf in the Netherlands, Sander Wageman, who shed some light on what might have brought Lee across the world.

“We’re not sure exactly why she left. There has been contact between Maggie and her mother and child protective services in the Netherlands, and they tell us they are concerned about the situation at home. There is something going on, but we’re not sure what,” Wageman explained.

He also told News 2 the teenager stayed with several different people in different places while she was there.

Lee was reunited with her family after she was found but reportedly doesn’t want to come back to the United States.
