GALLATIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – A woman wanted on charges of vandalism was arrested early Wednesday morning after barricading herself inside a home.

Gallatin police says it began after they responded to a vandalism call Tuesday night on Pace Street.

A warrant was obtained for Kim Leftwich, charging her with vandalism for under $500.

A short time later, officers were called to a home on Chamber Street. Around 4:35 a.m., officers arrived to find Leftwich had barricaded herself inside the home with a weapon.

A press release states that after hours of communicating with her, Leftwich went silent. Officers made their way into the home about 15 minutes to find her safe.

She was taken into custody without further incident and transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

The investigation is ongoing. It’s not clear what further charges, if any, Leftwich will face.
