Man killed when thrown from car on I-65 North near Brentwood

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 25-year-old man was killed when he was thrown from his vehicle during a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 near Brentwood early Sunday morning.

The crash occurred in the northbound lanes under the Old Hickory Boulevard overpass around 1:30 a.m.

According to police, Jose Luis Solis Vergara was driving a black 2008 Toyota Corolla with flat tires on I-65 when he traveled off the road and hit a rock wall.

Police said he was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car.

Prior to the crash, a witness reported seeing a car with flat tires speeding and driving recklessly on I-65.

Toxicology testing is pending.
