NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A woman died early Friday morning on Bell Road in South Nashville and two others were injured.

Metro police say Tecoria Benson, 32, died in the two-car crash about 3 a.m. near Harbor Lights Drive.

According to a press release, Benson was driving north when she left the road on the right, overcorrected, and hit another car heading southbound.

Benson, who police say was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.

The driver of the second car, 41-year-old Evelio Gomez, was injured, as was his sister and passenger Yaelaine Hernandez. Both were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

A press release states there is no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement on the part of Gomez.

Toxicology testing is being conducted to determine whether drug or alcohol involvement by Benson played a role in this fatal crash, Metro police said.
