Man shot in Bellevue after wallet, gun stolen from truck

BELLEVUE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Police are searching for the person they say stole a wallet and a gun before firing shots at a man late Monday night in Bellevue.

It happened just before midnight off Highway 70 South in Bellevue, not far from the Old Hickory Boulevard intersection.

Metro police told News 2 the victim and his friends were in the parking lot at the Exxon near the intersection when he tossed his wallet into his truck.

Soon after that, according to police, an unidentified person walked up to the truck and took the wallet and a gun from inside the truck.

Police said the victim and his friends then chased the suspect. During the chase, police said the suspect turned and fired at the truck.

The 25-year-old man was hit in the foot and was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
