WHOVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says the Grinch of Mount Crumpit was arrested Sunday in Whoville.

Deputies responded to the town after reports of a suspicious green man dressed in a partial Santa costume lurking around homes with Christmas trees and chimneys.

Residents reported items were missing from their homes, such as toys, gifts, food, candy, cookies, and things for dogs.

The sheriff’s office said they spotted the Grinch leaving the mayor’s home while patrolling the area. He’s accused of having a large bag full of the mayor’s items as well as his Christmas tree.

The Grinch was arrested and booked into the Montgomery County jail. His bond was set at 1,000,000 whomolians.
