NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – If you were watching ABC Monday night, you may have seen a local family show off their Christmas spirit.
George, Carrie, and Jordan Winton appeared on “The Great Christmas Light Fight,” and News 2 was there while they watched.
Their yard lights up their entire Manchester neighborhood—and their 16-year-old son is the mastermind behind it all.
The Wintons collect voluntary donations from visitors to benefit Haven of Hope, a charity that provides assistance and shelter to victims of domestic violence.
They said they wanted to give back to the community during the Christmas holiday.
“We do it because we enjoy it. We want to give back to our community,” said Jordon. “For me, it’s a hobby that I just love to do.”
The family works on the display for pretty much the whole year.
And even though they didn’t win the competition on ABC, the show got them more exposure, which will hopefully mean more donations to their charity.
If you want to see the lights, the Wintons are located just off Taylor Road in Manchester. It’s open to the public every night through Jan. 1. Click here for more on their Facebook page.
