FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 52-year-old man was seriously hurt in a single-car crash in Franklin late Monday afternoon.
The crash happened just before 4 p.m. and closed the Interstate 65 South exit ramp to McEwen Drive for nearly five hours.
Police say the man’s car was witnessed “driving erratically” just moments before he lost control and collided with a brick sign.
The car burst into flames moments after a passerby pulled the driver out of the car.
According to a press release, the driver suffered serious injuries and remains in critical condition.
Franklin police say he is a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that caused injuries just minutes before his own crash on Cool Springs Boulevard near Frazier Drive.
The off-ramp reopened by 8:45 p.m. Further details weren’t immediately released.
