NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Tennessee Titans lost defensive lineman Karl Klug for the rest of the season to a torn Achilles Sunday.
Titans head coach Mike Mularkey announced Monday Klug is having surgery and will be placed on injured reserve.
Klug aggravated his Achilles last week against the Broncos and after missing practice Wednesday and Thursday. He returned to the field Friday.
Mularkey said he couldn’t have sat Klug out if he “wanted to” because Klug was set on playing.
Klug was a fifth round pick back in 2011 and has 20 sacks for the Titans. He’s always been a favorite of Mularkey who has said he’ll take “53 just like him.”
