CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – People who were out Christmas shopping in Clarksville Saturday were surprised when officers handed them cash.

According to Clarksville Now, the Clarksville Police Department partnered with Bikers Who Care (BWC) to give $100 to random shoppers at the Walmart in St. Bethlehem, Toys R Us and Target.

Recipients were surprised and grateful for the extra money.

“It helps us a lot, especially when you’re tight on money and you have a lot of bills to pay, so a little extra money helps go a long way for Christmas,” said Elizabeth McElveen, who was shopping with her husband and daughter.

The money was donated to the police department from Bikers Who Care.

The organization, which is made up of motorcycle enthusiasts, raised the funds through fundraisers they held throughout the year.
