MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) – A situation involving a barricaded suspect in Mt. Juliet ended peacefully Saturday night.
Around 6 p.m., someone in a home in the Park Glen area called 911 and said a 21-year-old family member was threatening to kill the family with a firearm.
Everyone made it out safely, but the man barricaded himself inside the home and refused to come out.
According to police, he also threatened officers.
Crisis negotiators came to the home and talked the 21-year-old into coming outside without his weapon.
He was taken into custody and transported to a medical facility where he will undergo evaluation.
Police say charges against the man are pending.
Residents on several streets were told to shelter in place as authorities worked to secure the scene. The order was lifted soon after after the barricaded suspect surrendered to police.
