Man killed in exchange of gunfire at Cayce Homes in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 23-year-old died Saturday night in an exchange of gunfire at the Cayce Homes in East Nashville.

Metro police say Eric Gray died in the shooting on South Seventh Street just after 10:15 p.m.

According to a press release, Gray was talking to people inside a car when two suspects began arguing with them from across the parking lot.

That’s when police say Marris and Maurice Wynne joined Gray in the parking lot and an argument escalated between the two groups.

Shots were exchanged, and 23-year-old Gray was shot in the chest. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical center where he died.

Maurice Wynne, 20, was shot in the leg; his brother Marris, 22, was not injured.
