NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The parents of a four-month-old child that died in September 2014 have been charged with murder.

Metro police say an investigation by Youth Services led to the indictment of Rachel Jarrett and Dale Bible.

They are accused of being responsible for the death of their daughter, Adeline Bible, who was born prematurely.

Authorities say she was released from the hospital with oxygen equipment and a heart monitor just a few days before her Sept. 20, 2015 death but was rushed back to Skyline Medical Center where she died shortly after arrival.

The investigation alleges that the child’s heart/oxygen monitor was turned off early on the evening of Sept. 19.

Both parents are alleged to have acknowledged knowing that Adeline’s oxygen level had fallen to a dangerously low level before the equipment was deactivated.

Jarrett and Bible were taken into custody late Thursday night at a Hermitage motel. They are being held in lieu of $200,000 bond each.
