Murfreesboro business destroyed in fire

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – Crews battled a fire at a business in Murfreesboro early Friday morning.

The fire began at near the corner of South Walnut and West Castle streets.

The smoke and flames could be seen by crews even before they arrived on scene, according to the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department.

The business, believed to be Eubanks Electric, was destroyed in the blaze.

“It’s very fortunate because its so cold out here,” said spokeswoman Ashley McDonald. “There’s various factors that could, you know, the ice on the roads and for things like that from the amount of water, that they had to put on the fire so we are very fortunate that nobody was hurt.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation and the fire marshal has been called to the scene to investigate.
