Man arrested for rape of cleaning crew coworker at Bridgestone Arena

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man has been arrested for the reported rape of his female coworker.

The alleged incident occurred Thursday night at Bridgestone Arena. According to Metro police, 51-year-old Cleotha Washington and the 49-year-old victim were working for a company that is contracted to clean the venue after events.

The victim says Washington led her into a handicap restroom where he repeatedly raped and physically assaulted her between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.

She says he then fled the scene.

Washington, who is homeless, was arrested on Spence Lane Friday afternoon.

Police say he is on Tennessee’s sex offender registry stemming from a 2008 case in Iowa. According to state records, he was convicted of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse.
