Knoxville man charged with child rape

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Knoxville man has been charged with the rape of a child under the age of 13.

On Tuesday, the Knox County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Jacob Tate, 20, with rape of a child, aggravated sexual battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and contributing to the unruliness of a child.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation started investigating Tate in February over allegations of sexual misconduct with a child. They later learned the reported incident occurred in Knox County.

On Friday, the TBI arrested Tate in his Knoxville home.

He was booked into the Knox County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
