FAIRVIEW, Tenn. (WKRN) – The spirit of Christmas has touched several shoppers and employees inside the Fairview Walmart Supercenter.

Tiffany Killmer told News 2 she was brought to tears after receiving a phone call from a store employee saying her $373 layaway had been paid off by a stranger.

“I honestly couldn’t believe it,” said Killmer, adding that it’s been a difficult year, “We’ve been struggling for a while.”

As a single mom, Killmer works two jobs to help make ends meet.

“We’ve actually been struggling on bills, I’m behind on bills, I’m still behind on rent, and I’m behind on electricity,” she said.

Killmer told News 2 her priority is her 4-year-old son Keaton who has a train on his Christmas list.

Killmer put a train on layaway at Walmart, along with some Legos for Keaton’s birthday, which falls just two days after Christmas.

“I didn’t know how we were going to get that,” she said.

But Tuesday morning, a man that wanted to remain anonymous, walked into the store offering to help.

He told employees he had $10,000 and wanted to pay off every layaway that included toys. A store manager said he ended up paying off nine layaways that equaled around $2,000.

Several shoppers also reported seeing a man walking around the store paying $100 towards their purchases.

Some consider his kindness a Christmas miracle and believe Santa himself is in the small town of Fairview.
