MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man police say works as a security guard is accused of vandalizing the Murfreesboro Police Department’s teleserve office.

Kenneth Hall allegedly went to the office to report an assault. When no one answered the door, he is accused of breaking in.

Once inside the lobby, police say Hall opened one of the display presents placed under the Christmas tree and rummaged through several desk drawers.

He’s also accused of punching one of the walls several times, and he was later found asleep in one of the officer chairs.

“We hear about intoxicated individuals in drive through lines, in the strangest places, but the last place you’d ever expect someone to come in and vandalize is the lobby of the police department,” said Sgt. Kyle Evans.

“And in this case, Mr. hall ended up spending the night in jail rather than where he would’ve liked to spend the night,” Evans continued.

Police say Hall worked as a security guard and majored in criminal justice.
