NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Crews remain on the scene early Monday tending hot spots after a church in Inglewood caught on fire twice Sunday.
Firefighters were originally called to Eastminster Presbyterian Church on Gallatin Pike around 4 p.m. after a neighbor saw smoke coming from the building.
They cut a hole in the roof and were able to put the blaze out quickly. No one was inside at the time.
The fire appeared to have started in the basement, causing heavy smoke damage to the church.
A few hours later, the building was on fire again. This time flames were shooting through the roof.
Crews worked for more than an hour to put out the blaze a second time.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
