GALLATIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — Hundreds attended the Volunteer State Community College fall commencement ceremony Saturday.

The event was held at Pickel Field House on the school’s campus in Gallatin.

There were 705 students eligible to graduate this year.

“This is the beginning of a new phase of your life,” said Vol State president, Jerry Faulkner, to the graduates. “Some of you will go on to jobs and careers, some to additional degrees. We trust that all of you will be lifelong learners. We charge you to utilize your academic knowledge and credentials with wisdom, courage, compassion, and high ethical standards and to serve others, as you serve your own aspirations.”
