NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man is fighting for his life this morning and police are searching for the suspect who shot him and his car in Antioch overnight.

Metro police say the victim called 911 shortly before 3:30 a.m. after he was shot in the back on Bakertown Road.

Detectives believe the man was shot somewhere else and got in his car and drove to the Baker Station Apartments.

Metro police say the gunman may have continued shooting as the victim drove away.

When emergency crews got to the scene, the victim could only say someone in a dark colored vehicle shot at him.

He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition.
