NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Interstate 24 East at Bell Road has reopened after a multi-car crash slowed traffic Saturday afternoon.
It happened shortly after 3 p.m. at exit 59.
Metro officers told News 2 there were two different accidents. The first one involved two cars and the second had four.
Nancy Kessler says she saw the first wreck, swerved to avoid it, then ended up in the second pile-up.
She’s surprised the outcome wasn’t worse.
“I was shocked after seeing the damage. It looks like all six cars are totaled,” said Kessler.
One person was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic was slow for about two hours, but the roadway was clear by 5 p.m.
