NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Interstate 24 and Interstate 40 East are both partially closed near Fesslers Lane due to a crash involving a tractor trailer.

According to Metro police at the scene, the semi was traveling down I-24 before it got to the I-40 interchange. The semi tipped over in the turn, sliding onto I-40.

A police officer witnessed the truck roll over and said if he hadn’t have slowed down, the truck would have likely landed on his cruiser.

The truck was hauling a load of lumber that became scattered all around the truck’s trailer.

The driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and is in critical but stable condition.

According to TDOT, the road was expected to open by 9:30 a.m., but at least one lane of I-40 was still closed thereafter.
