RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A burn ban in Rutherford County has been lifted.

The ban was put in place due to the severe drought across Tennessee, but recent rain has helped the dry conditions.

Under state law, residents are required to get a permit from the Department of Agriculture Division of Forestry before doing any open burning of wood debris.

This is in effect from Oct. 15 – May 15.
