Clarksville police search for man who robbed Dover Road bank

CLARSKVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man walked into and robbed the Cumberland Bank and Trust on Dover Road in Clarksville on Wednesday.

Police are now searching for the suspect, a black man who was wearing a suit and tie, blue or purple cap, and dreadlocks they say may have been a wig.

He allegedly entered the bank just before 1 p.m. Tuesday and handed a bank employee a note. He then left with an undisclosed amount of cash in a pink and purple bag.

Clarksville police say several officers immediately responded to the area, along with sheriff’s deputies. Another officer in the area working off-duty security at another bank immediately ran out to find the suspect and detained someone who turned out to be a runaway juvenile also being sought by police.
