NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Many celebrate the holiday season clinging to family and friends, but this time of year is a season to remember for too many families.
Those who have lost the people closest to them often spend time mourning their loved ones this time each year. “Season to Remember” is aimed to bring those people together.
A group gathered Tuesday to make ornaments of the children, parents, or siblings who were victims of homicide.
They say it’s a healing experience and a fellowship to share the hurt and healing.
Coby Coffman’s 16-year-old daughter was murdered in 1993. He said they just keep going one day at a time.
“People say time heals all wounds, but the thing is, every day that we wake up, it’s one day at a time. She’s not here,” he said.
The ornaments will be hung on a tree at Centennial Park this Thursday.
