NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The driver of a semi lost control on Briley Parkway and crashed into other vehicles, including a Metro patrol car.
It happened around 3:30 p.m. Sunday just off Interstate 24.
According to police on the scene, a sergeant stopped to help a driver who was involved in a crash.
While he was calling for more units, he heard a loud noise behind him. That’s when a tractor-trailer driver lost control, causing the truck to fall on its side. One person was injured, but it was not immediately clear how serious those injuries were.
Pictures from the scene showed damage to the sergeant’s patrol car. It was one of five cars involved in the crash, according to police.
Exit 18 of I-24 was blocked for several hours while officials cleaned a small fuel spill.
No other details have been released about the crash at this time.
