NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – News 2 reached out to CSX for an update on the train situation at Elm Hill Pike in South Nashville.
In October, News 2 reported about the major delays at the train crossing, and a few residents said they’ve waited for trains to go by at that particular intersection for hours.
On Friday, Laura Phelps with Media Relations said CSX has continued working with the city of Nashville regarding the blockages.
Phelps says they’ve made operational changes in the area and at the Radnor Yard to prevent trains from blocking road traffic.
“Our operations team in Nashville is making progress with these changes, but we understand there are still reports of blocked crossings,” she wrote in an email to News 2.
Phelps says Radnor Yard is one of the busiest terminals on the CSX network, and they will continue to evaluate their operational plan to minimize the impacts on the community.
People are encouraged to report all blocked crossing to the CSX Community Affairs Center at 1-877-835-5279.
