Fire captain falls while responding to Nashville house fire

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A fire captain fell after responding to a home that caught fire in the Buena Vista neighborhood of North Nashville.

Officials on the scene told News 2 the captain suffered cuts to his head after falling down some steps at the home on Cephas Street just after 9:15 a.m.

It’s unclear how serious his injuries are at this time.

Luckily, no one was home when the fire started. The homeowner, a mother, drove up and saw smoke before going into make sure the house was empty. She came back outside unharmed.

At one point, the grandmother arrived on scene and had an anxiety attack. She was taken to the hospital by private vehicle.

The home is likely uninhabitable, displacing the mother and four children, who were also away when the blaze broke out.
