NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Three Middle Tennessee animal shelters have joined forces for the first time ever to help gets pets a new home for the holidays.
Metro Animal Care and Control, Nashville Humane Association and Williamson County Animal Center are aiding in the “Take Us Home for the Holdays” campaign.
The aim is to have every animal in the shelters adopted into a new home by Dec. 31.
All shelters will be featuring adoption specials during the month of December.
“The holiday season is a time for family and togetherness – what better way to celebrate than by extending your family to a homeless animal,” said Rebecca Morris spokesperson for Metro Animal Care and Control. “If you’re unable to adopt for yourself, you can still help homeless animals by encouraging your friends to consider adoption.”
“From the health benefits of pet ownership to the advantages of adopting there are many reasons why adopting from your local shelter is the best choice for finding a new pet.” said Laura Chavaria, director of Williamson County Animal Center.
“The holidays are not as much about opening presents as opening our hearts. What better way to open your heart than by adopting a homeless animal,” said Joy Beach, Executive Director, Nashville Humane Association. “Potential adopters will still need to meet with an adoption counselor to find the best match for their family.”
