NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Tennessee Titans announced Monday they have released veteran cornerback Perrish Cox and promoted Kalan Reed from the practice squad.
Reed was a seventh round pick by the Titans in the 2016 Draft. He agreed to terms with the Titans Monday morning.
While at Southern Mississippi, Reed played in 48 games and had 39 starts. He also registered 152 career tackles, eight interceptions, three were returned for touchdowns, 35 passes defensed and 8.5 tackles for loss.
Reed lived in Nashville as a young child and started playing football in Antioch with the Flatrock Vols pee-wee team and played during halftime of a Titans game when he was five-years-old.
Cox signed with the Titans in March 2015. He played in 11 games for the Titans this year, with nine starts.
Over the last two seasons, Cox played in a total of 24 games with the Titans and started in 22 of those.
