2nd suspect arrested in attack, robbery of woman near First Tennessee Park

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A second suspect has been arrested in the attack and robbery of a woman walking near First Tennessee Park.

Christopher Darnell, 22, turned himself in to Metro police Sunday evening. He, along with Brandon Dotson, is accused of the violent robbery of a 59-year-old woman on Saturday, Nov. 19.

Authorities say they approached the victim from behind as she left a performance at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC).

When she reached the right field entrance to First Tennessee Park, she was reportedly struck her in the head with a metal pole, knocking her to the ground.

Police say Dotson and Darnell stole her purse and cell phone before taking off on foot.

Dotson turned himself in to police Saturday. He has been charged with aggravated robbery resulting in serious injury and remains behind bars on a $50,000 bond.

Darnell is charged with aggravated robbery resulting in serious injury and two counts of fraudulently using the victim’s credit card.
