NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 19-year-old wanted for attacking and robbing a woman near First Tennessee Park has turned himself in to police.

According to a news release, Brandon Dotson, of La Vergne, surrendered to officers in downtown Nashville on Saturday.

He’s accused of the violent robbery of a 59-year-old woman on Saturday, Nov. 19. Authorities say Dotson and another man approached her from behind as she left a performance at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC).

As she reached the right field entrance to First Tennessee Park, Dotson reportedly struck her in the head with a metal stake, knocking her to the ground.

Police say Dotson then stole her purse and cell phone before he and the other suspect took off on foot.

The victim went back to her Third Avenue North apartment where she called for help. She was taken to a hospital with a serious gash on her head.

Dotson has been charged with aggravated robbery resulting in serious injury. He remains behind bars on a $50,000 bond.
