I-40 East in Wilson County reopens after fatal crash

WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – All lanes of Interstate 40 East in Wilson County are back open after a fatal crash Thanksgiving night.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the wreck was reported at 6:26 p.m. at mile marker 247, which is in the Lebanon area.

Officials with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office told News 2 that two cars collided head-on and caught fire, killing at least one person.

Authorities shut down the eastbound lanes of the interstate and diverted drivers to alternate routes.

No other details about the crash have been released.
