MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) – A passerby saved a man’s life Wednesday evening in Mt. Juliet.

Police say the man was about to jump off the Mt. Juliet Road overpass and onto the interstate about 5:20 p.m.

The man had a leg over the overpass barrier when the good Samaritan stopped, pulled him off the ledge, and held him down until officers arrived.

Medics transported the man to the hospital to receive proper care, authorities said.

“The department is thankful for the many citizens that assisted in this incident,” the Mt. Juliet Police Department added.
