NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Nashville Predators avenged their only regulation home loss of the season routing the Dallas Stars 5-2 Wednesday night at Bridgestone Arena.
The Predators never trailed in the game and took the lead late in the first when PK Subban sent a gorgeous pass to Filip Forsberg for Forsberg’s second goal of the season and a 1-0 Nashville lead.
Mike Fisher scored his fourth goal of the season in the second period to stake the Predators to a 2-0 lead.
Both offenses got going in the third period. The Stars made it a one goal game when Patrick Sharpe beat Pekka Rinne to make it a 2-1 game.
Just 37 seconds later, the Predators got it back when James Neal found Ryan Johanson standing in front of the net for his secnd goal of the season, and it was 3-1 Nashville.
Craig Smith and Neal added two more goals for the Preds and that was plenty for Pekka Rinne between the pipes who stopped 33 of 35 shots.
Rinne has been rock solid for Nashville lately, and Wednesday’s .943 save percentage really paced Nashville until the Predators got their offense rolling.
Nashville is back on the ice Friday when they host the Winnipeg Jets at 5 p.m.
