Man charged with attempted homicide in East Nashville stabbing

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man has been charged with attempted criminal homicide for critically injuring another man in an East Nashville stabbing.

The crime occurred on Nov. 12 at the victim’s apartment in the 1000 block of Russell Street.

Police say 41-year-old Ralph Martin Jr. admitted to stabbing the victim, taking his credit card, and using it at a nearby convenience store.

Martin, who was arrested on Thursday for unrelated charges, has a lengthy criminal history.

He is a registered ex-con for burglary and has seven aggravated burglary and five felony theft convictions.

Martin remains behind bars on a $250,000 bond.
