NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A woman was killed when she was hit by a truck in north Nashville early Friday morning.
The woman was struck on West Trinity Lane under the Interstate 65 overpass around 12:30 a.m.
Metro police told News 2 the woman, identified as 37-year-old Tonya Polk, was in the middle of a dark road and not in or near a crosswalk.
Polk was pronounced dead at the scene. She was homeless, according to police.
The driver immediately stopped and was cooperative with the investigation. He is not facing any charges at this time, according to police.
