Volunteer firefighter from Ky. dies from injuries sustained battling brush fire

BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WKRN) – A volunteer fire department in Kentucky announced one of its firefighters has died from injuries sustained while battling a brush fire.

According to a Facebook post, Rodney Collett, a member of the Bell County Volunteer Fire Department, died on Thursday.

“Rodney was a great man and had one of the biggest hearts you will ever find and loved serving his community. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family.”

Funeral arrangements were not immediately released.
