NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Several agencies in Tennessee are working together to keep you safe during your travels over the holiday.

The initiative is happening nationwide.

There will be a state trooper or sheriff’s deputy stationed every 20 miles on the interstates during the most traveled times over the holiday weekend.

It adds up to about 24 hours in all.

The Tennessee Department of Safety And Homeland Security, the Highway Safety Office, the Department of Transportation and Tennessee Highway Patrol are all involved in this initiative.
