CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested and charged for reportedly firing shots at cars at a Clarksville gas station.

According to authorities, the situation started at 4:25 p.m. Thursday at the Speedway Gas Station at 320 Providence Boulevard.

Police were called to the scene after witnesses said a man fired his handgun four to five times in the parking lot before fleeing on foot.

The occupants of a car said shots were also fired at them. A projectile struck another vehicle on the driver’s side while it was occupied.

A witness told police he followed the suspect into the woods, and he had not come out.

Officials then searched the wooded area and located 24-year-old Joseph Monteleone, who matched the suspect description.

They also found a black hat and a revolver with five casings that had all been fired.

Monteleone was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. Other charges are pending.
