Firefighters continue work to contain Tennessee wildfires

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Tennessee firefighters are continuing their fight against wildfires that continue throughout the state.

As of Friday, there are 11 major wildfires in the state with nine of them between 70 to 100 percent containment.

Knoxville, Chattanooga and the Great Smoky Mountians are all under an Air Quality Alert until Saturday. Click here for updates.

About 302 of Tennessee’s 480 water systems are experiencing some level of drought impact, ranging from moderate to exceptional, according to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.

At least three counties have requested water for residents whose wells have run completely dry of water.
