HICKMAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A brush fire in Hickman County burned up to 250 acres on Thursday.
The fire, which was located near Coble, started around Midday.
Emergency management officials said multiple fire department agencies along with the forestry division were called to the scene. The Red Cross was also called in to set up a refreshment station for the firefighters.
According to the Tennessee State Forestry Department, the fire was contained by 7 p.m.
The brush fire happened in open land and did not cause any injuries or structure damage. However, some nearby residents chose to leave their homes because of poor air quality.
A farm tractor caught fire and sparked the blaze which spread quickly due to dry leaves.
