Police: Man shot outside apartment may have been followed

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police say that a 20-year-old man who was found shot outside of an Antioch apartment early Sunday morning may have been followed.

The victim, now identified as  Adonilfe Isai Aguilar Escobar, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

According to police, the investigation to this point shows Escobar was at a nightclub on Antioch Pike during the early hours of Sunday morning. While there, detectives said he was apparently involved in some sort of altercation.

Escobar took a taxi to the Overlook Apartments on Bell Road, which is where police say he was staying.

He was shot just after he got out of the cab and detectives believe he was followed to the apartment.
