Metro school bus, car collide in south Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) –  A car and a Metro school bus collided in south Nashville Monday morning.

The crash happened just before 6 a.m. on Bell Road, just west of Interstate 24 at Blue Hole Road.

A witness at the scene told News 2 the car ran a red light before it hit the bus. No students were on board at the time.

Paramedics at the scene checked out the bus driver.

Blue Hole Road and Bell Road are backed up while crews work to clear the crash. Traffic from Bell Road is being diverted south down Blue Hole Road.
